Only one match survived the bad weather from the scheduled Saturday afternoon Premier League kick-offs but it proved to be a football betting cracker. Twice Everton led Arsenal at the Emirates and twice the Gunners came back but couldn't quite take all three points in the football fixture.
Leon Osman, matched as high as 55 to open the scoring, headed in from a corner but two deflected goals from the boots of Denilson and Tomas Rosicky were scored either side of a sublime finish from Everton’s Steven Pienaar to ensure the match finished 2-2. That scoreline was matched at a high of 36 with the bookmaker but there was plenty of damage done on the match odds market too: Everton were backed at just 1.16 when leading 2-1 in stoppage time and Arsenal had been backed at a pre-match low of 1.39.
Arsene Wenger will perhaps have wished the football match hadn’t gone ahead after all and will see this as two points dropped rather than one gained. The Betfair market certainly does and has seen Arsenal drift from odds of 5.0 at kick-off to 6.0 for the title. The Gunners are 2.3 for a Top 2 finish, having traded at a low of 1.97. |
