Wayne Rooney is 4/6 to break Bobby Charlton’s England goals record of 49 goals after the Manchester United star declared his intent on breaking the record, reports PaddyPower. The online bookmaker is also betting on who will be the first to reach 50 England goals between Rooney and his club mate Michael Owen. Rooney is 10/11 to reach the half century first with Owen, who is 15 goals closer, available at 13/2. Owen’s move into the wilderness under Capello looks to have derailed his bid to become England’s record goalscorer. With 40 goals to his name the striker had looked almost a certainty to pass Bobby Charlton a couple of year’s ago.
